Perch is a hidden and unexpected gem located on the rooftop of Kelowna’s Okanagan Centre for Innovation and is quickly becoming a hot spot for those looking for a getaway with one of the best views in the City. Hatch worked closely with the Owners to help bring their dream to life, ensuring no detail was missed in this highly functional space.
With indoor and outdoor seating, this space acts as either a quick lunch escape for those looking for a break from their office routine or the perfect ambience for those venturing out for dinner and drinks after the laptops have shut off. Faced with a small interior footprint, every inch was taken into account to maximize efficiency and create an intimate layout that did not feel crowded. A well thought out bar design, custom table groupings, and soft seating all help to utilize every corner of this space.
Perch’s dark and moody atmosphere is a stark contrast to the bright and contemporary building it sits atop, which was an intentional choice to create a true change of pace. The wood clad walls wrapping from the outside in, set the tone, while the elaborate walnut millwork, brass details, and carefully selected furniture all layer upon the design intent. The incorporation of high polished concrete floors and a custom cast concrete pedestal with Perch logo, provide a contemporary touch, marrying the old vibe with new. The extension of the lounge onto the vast outdoor rooftop with green space, stone clad fireplaces, and gathering spaces is unlike anything else Kelowna has to offer.
