Shayne Dark - Wildfire

I stumbled upon this sculptor and artist recently and was just blown away; he is a creative genius. His name is Shayne Dark and his works are like nothing you’ve seen – full of color, structure, natural form, and massive scale. Dark was born in small town Moosejaw, but now resides in Ontario. Typically I have a lot to say regarding the things I blog about, but in this case I think I’ll let the photos do the talking!

I received an email that had been circulating and I opened it expecting little, but was awestruck by the ideas being presented. Have you seen the concept for Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic torch? It’s AMAZING!They are calling it a “Solar City Tower” to be built at the crest of Cotonduba Island. Cotonduba island is the perfect location for such an awesome piece of art because it’s visible to all participants and tourists as they arrive whether it’s by plane, car, or boat.

I recently stumbled upon a company that’s doing some really interesting things with glass. Ever heard of magnetic glass? No? Me neither…until now, that is. GlasPro in California has just introduced their line of magnetic glass. How awesome is that?! I’ve been waiting for a revolutionary product like this. Imagine the possibilities. SOLAR POWERED ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Have you heard of the new solar highway project? It’s an amazing concept that I think we should all know about. Currently most of our roadways are being made of asphalt, a petroleum based, fossil fuel derived, form of construction. We all know that our dependence on petroleum is not sustainable environmentally or economically. In fact, the price of asphalt has increased by almost six times since 2007! These solar powered roads not only create energy, but they are built via recycled landfill waste.
