THE TRAIN THAT NEVER STOPS AT THE STATION

Recently I was forwarded an email regarding something quite exceptional. Innovators in China have come up with a “why didn’t I think of that idea” – a train that doesn’t have to stop at the station. Basically the bullet train remains in a constant state of motion to save time and energy typically spent accelerating and decelerating.

Prior to the train’s scheduled arrival passengers enter a “connector cabin” situated at the station. As the train approaches the station it slows down slightly to pick up the connector cabin. The cabin connects itself to the roof of the moving train. Once connected, the passengers are then able to move from the connector cabin into the train. The empty cabin then shifts towards the rear of the train to load any passengers disembarking at the next station. Interesting hey? I’m curious to see if the idea comes to fruition.
