If you are anything like us you are excited about new materials on the market. This year at IIDEX the THINK:MATERIAL exhibit showcased a hand chosen selection of fresh, new, innovative materials, many of them sustainable. Weâd like to share some of our faves.
âNewsworthyâ designed by Weitzner â wallcovering made from 70% recycled newspaper and 30% nylon thread. We like this Cradle to Cradle approach of upcycling to create post consumer recycled material!
Graphic Concrete – creates patterns and images on a concrete surface. Raw concrete is a popular, contemporary finish in todayâs interiors. The possibilities are endless with Graphic Concreteâs patterned concrete, and completely customizable to create your own concrete masterpiece! Graphic Concrete will provide pre-fabricated panels with patterns selected from their standard line or patterns designed by you.
Engineered Timber Resources â wood or bamboo strand composite board. Itâs another upcycler, wood or bamboo; including byproducts from wood manufacturing processes; is embedded in a resin in various ârecipesâ to create a variety of unique wood looks. It looks like they are providing this for solid and engineered wood flooring, as well as panels.
